I love the way that Amazon (or whoever they contract to do the design) emphasize battery efficiency above all else. If other devices did the same, we’d have phones that lasted an eternity.
Currently, few advanced apps are available for kindle, but once it supports social networks, email, sms forwarding, I’m gonna leave my phone at home.

The only gripe I have is page turns are only one at a time, if they were 5 or 10 at a time it would be ideal for jumping around books.

The navigation controls are great. Since they’re on both sides, it makes it easy to switch pages no matter which way you’re holding it. The keyboard is fine, but tbh I don’t use it too much.

@Daquan, I think it all depends on what you want from the device. If you are getting something to read books with, you can’t beat e-ink devices like the Kindle. There’s no glare when outside (in fact, like a real book, it gets easier to read outside). I don’t have an iPad so I can’t comment on which is better for book-reading, but I’ve heard tonnes of people mentioning the e-ink and battery life as notable differences.

I enjoy e-books, but I always prefer reading from paper (because it’s easier on my eyes). Still, I’ll keep what you said in mind about not disregarding them and be brave when I spend money on it. lol

I tried one out at the airport and found myself trying to swipe between pages; having to click a button to go back and forth felt really odd. Did you find this too initially?I do read quite a bit so I’m thinking out getting one.

It’s great product and Whispernet is fantasitc experience, but some things never change, like me reading books 🙂
